Summer Semester!

Wow! The summer semester is right around the corner! ...What a great spring semester we've had!

Well, the National Community Geographic Summer Pass is officially out, and I want to welcome anyone who might be checking out this website for the first time in search of a small group! This website has become a journal of what we as a small group have done together over this last semester! You'll find pictures, thoughts, quotes, questions and Scriptures that we have explored together that will give you an idea of who we are and what we're all about!

Although we won't be meeting every Wednesday for the summer semester like we did for the spring semester, we have plans to meet at least once a month or so for the months of June, July, and August and would love to have you join us!

E-mail Heather at
ceaseless.worship@gmail.com for more specifics!
Thanks for checking us out! We hope you're blessed just by glancing over the posts!

Confident Expectation

"The idea of confidence is implicit in the word expectation. The Greek word for this concept, the word used in the Septuagint and the New Testament, is elpizo, which means "confident expectation," now sometimes translated as the less forceful word hope."
~ The Creative Call
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or
i m a g i n e,
according to his power that is at work within us,
to Him be glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations,
for ever and ever!
Amen.

Jump-starter

"What we can easily see is only a small percentage of what is possible. Imagination is having the vision to see what is just below the surface; to picture that which is essential, but invisible to the eye."

"Great imaginations create beautiful music. Music is the imagination of the soul. ...The same is true in literature. Before you can produce a book you have to visualize the material. ...Then there's the art world. Michaelangelo had to see the Last Judgement before he could paint it on the Sistine Chapel ceiling. He had to see how big to paint God, and how big the devil should be. He placed emperors, popes, and all kinds of people in the painting. He had to see the total picture before he could create it and bring it into being.

"All this human delight began in a world of imagination. Then it emerged to be seen and appreciated.

"The automobile, airplane, radio, and television... -these were all born in the imagination." ~ taken from Spirit, Soul, and Body by Lester Sumrall

Can You Imagine?!

What were some of your wild imaginations when you were a kid?
What did you imagine yourself doing or being when you "grew up"?

"As adults, we usually interpret our circumstances each day in accordance with the images established inside our hearts. When people have been given an internal image and vision of who they are and where they are going, then they can stretch themselves to do the exploits of God. However when this has not been done, people are overrun and consumed by daily problems of life and maintenance functions." ~taken from Ancient Paths

"The human personality is so wonderfully and mysteriously made by God that science will never completely understand the intricacies of the human personality."

"Human imagination spans the past, crosses the present, and predicts the future."
Is this perhaps like a definition of the prophetic, how God sees and gives us vision for more than today?

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained... Proverbs 29:18

"Imagination and fulfillment flow together. Imagination come out of the world of hope and faith, a projected image waiting to enter the world of reality."

"Imagination is the power to conceive and give expression to images and dreams that can be moved from the world of imagination into the material, mundane world."

~ taken from Spirit, Soul, and Body by Lester Sumrall

Things which eye has not seen; ear has not heard and which have not entered the heart of man all that God has prepared for them that love Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9

Scripture says a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
-James 1:8

How might that apply to our imaginations?
Come ready to do our normal time of discussion with a twist. ...Instead of me just asking questions here, I want each of us to begin to think of questions from these thoughts and Scriputres, to ask ourselves, one another, and God in regards to our imaginations and perhaps the connection between them, our dreams, our actions and ultimately our relationship with God. They might just lead us on a journey to the Answer even though we won't know all the answers or be able to chew on these thoughts in one night alone... Even if you don't ask your specific question(s) during small group tomorrow I'd encourage you guys to write them out somewhere!

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
