Bring Your Bible! :)
Here are some verses I just want to introduce and talk a little bit about tonight, so bring your Bibles if you can! They are somewhat of a road map for the topic of spirit, soul, and body that we won't even begin to be able to cover in full depth this semester but that I hope to delve into with you all over the semester! What do you guys think?!
Genesis 1:27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
1 Corinthians 6:19&20 ...do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit . . . for you have been bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 15:44b - 50 If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life giving spirit. However the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. And just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall bear the image of the heavenly. Now I say this that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another.
John 4:24 God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
